Newbie type 2 stated meds tonight

Is there a best diet plan to fllow that helps with the diabetics , or is just a case of trying differnt things like what should i aviod most (choc i know lol ).
Nurse not told me much.

do you have a testing meter? it boils down what foods dont make your bg go up too high, many of us find that eating less carbohydrate helps

Carbohydrates will raise your blood sugar so with a meter you will be able to tell how much carb you can have without raising your blood sugar too much. The good news is that 85% Dark Chocolate such as Green & Blacks and others are quite low carb and hence you can have a few pieces each day. In summary don't worry about diet plans just keep the carbs under control and watch overall food portion sizes.

Getting a meter is a good way forward. But!!! A lot of doctors don't like t2 on just metformin having meters as it costs the practice to much money if you got a good go though you will get one
