Good Afternoon,
Have just in the past few days been diagnosed with T2 after a blood test investigating kidney stones.
HbA1c of 51 (so on the lower side)
Did not come as a surprise with my rather sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle in the past 9-10yrs. Plus diabetes runs in both sides of my family.
No uncertain terms I know I got myself in this situation and determined to do my best to get the level down to a safe one.
Prior to diagnosis I already started a low carb diet with fasting (taking tips from the fast 800 diet - but not religiously) and have actually already lost half a stone in just under a month. So on the right track, just need to keep it up.
I have also ordered a BG machine that I plan to use to monitor my meals to see what effect each are having on my glucose levels.
What I have been reading already has been a great help and no doubt will be continuing to check back for any further assistance.
Thank you.
