Hi to you all
Just joined your group this evening looking forward to advice on type 2 diabetes just been told about 3 weeks ago, was on metformin but ended up in hospital after passing out with a severe allergic reaction now on sitagliptin feeling sooo bloody tired all the time… any advice to over come this tiredness and brain fog ( found my car keys in freezer) greatly appreciated Thankyou

Hi @Kelly thompson-wilkinson and welcome to the forums.

Do you know what your hba1c was on diagnosis? What medications are you on now? Just sitagliptin or other meds as well?

I ask because though many GPs offer drugs from the start others suggest that you try diet change first. Many T2s here manage to reduce their blood sugar levels just by reducing the carbohydrate in their diets.

And if you think the brain fog is caused by one particular med, I would definitely discuss changing that medication with your doctor.

Do you have a blood testing meter so you can see how your blood sugars are running? Tiredness ican be a symptom of high blood sugar.

Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Take care.
