Thanks for the encouragement. And you are quite right - I am a recovering carboholic - and probably need to consider this is my status for the rest of my life. I am seeing the world differently now. I even found myself telling the young WH Smith assistant off for offering me chocolate at the check out. Wouldn't have been so bad - except it was the check out at a hospital based WH Smith!
I have trousers till 30 waist not below that and I feel by the end of it all I might need 28. Even with jackets I normally have small and medium. But yes might need a new one this time around.

I saw a GP/ Neurologist yesterday. I've now lost 53 ½ lbs from my worst weight (about a year ago) I exercise almost every day either 14-15 mile bike ride / weights in the gym / hill sprints on my bike. I am in the top 1% per this doctor for exercising as a T2D patient and my GP was suggesting insulin & we've not had any A1C done in 8 months!
So I've made my mind up to lose another 10lbs in the next month or so with being sensible on food intake & checking everything I eat. Its funny how a cheese sauce sounds good but the milk in the sauce it is lactose and thus sugar! I've been eating Myntz! and discovered today that they too are playing games with words calling them "Sugar free" whereas in reality its got Sorbitol which is nasty as sugar anyways! What a nightmare world we live in..
The funny thing is with mentioning waists of jeans. I've three pairs of Levi's that are 554's from 20+years back. Their size is 34 waist & 36 inside leg. When I tried those jeans recently they were still showing me sporting a big muffin top. 53 ½ lbs weight loss not withstanding. So I am hoping I can take care of that muffin top and look good again soon and put my T2D into remission..

It could well be it is just taking some time for you to trim up this area, if this is where you carried most of your weight. It might just be stubborn, or moving slowly. Have you tried doing any exercises to specifically trim this area, like stomach curls or twisting exercises?
Conversely, your muffin top could really be excess skin, with modest, "normal" subcutaneous fat, which doesn't have a great appearance because the skin itself has lost some elasticity, due to your significant weight loss. It's very difficult to influence how that goes, moving forward. For some people who lose weight in their middle years or older, they never appear to lose that last bit, but to this lost elasticity, with the only way to be rid of it is to submit to drastic action - the knife!!
Whichever it is, I'm sure you look healthier having lost that significant amount of weight, so you may already be "looking good again", but you just don't recognise it. We women have a lifetime's experience of seeing imperfections and focusing on them. Sometimes we (OK, I) just get things out of proportion and can focus on a small thing that simply isn't apparent to those around us/me. Focus on enjoying the positives of the changes and progress you have made, rather than being frustrated by a job not yet completed.
Let's face it, life is an incomplete job.
I think that's one of the problems with weighing yourself every day. 0.2kg gain could be caused by any number of things. You'd probably be better off not weighing yourself until the end of the 8 weeks and concentrate on BG instead.Day 10 - weight gain! Very disapointing. I put on 0.2 kg - while sticking to the 600 cals (+veg). Cant think of what I have done that was different from any other day on this program. Blood was up a bit too - 5.9.

Is there a recommendation for weighing on the ND?
I am still waiting to start the ND. My DN asked for me to see a dieticion before I decide (I already have) because of my low BMI. I saw her last Wednesday and am still waiting to hear. If I have not heard by the end of next week I will start anyway as I have a foal due in July so I need to be eating and keep my strength up to manage Mum and Babe just in case I feel weak on the diet. Keep fingers crossed for a filly, much easier to manage than colts!
Please, no negative comments, Pipp, I really want to try and reverse my diabetes as I am so very limited in what I can eat without my BS going really high.
Thanks Brettsza
One thing it did do was motivate me to go for a long walk. Just for interest, I weighed my self when I got home and dropped 0.5kg. I realise I will put this back on with a glass of water but it is encouraging to see the numbers.
I feel for you re taste. I am trying what I can to put flavour into food.
4 more weeks! must seem like a long time - but Christmas was 15 weeks ago - and my wallet is still recovering!
Hi@Arab Horse
Its funny I was discussing ND with my GP/Neurologist on Monday. I've lost plenty of weight but because I've not had a meter I think my BG levels have been all over the place. My BMI is now sub 25 & his position is well its not working so why would a BMI of 22 /23/24 work? Yet I've just discovered that sugar has been sneaking into my diet something cronic and giving PN. He has increased my metformin & I've to see him back in 4-6 weeks with a new A1C & peptide test
It is challenging to say the least!
