200g is a big glass of waterHi Indy
Not that I know of. 0.2kg could be water retention - or it could be that I had been dehydrated prior to this. I'm disappointed but not concerned. I am looking mainly at T2 reversal - not weight. The point of a daily weigh in is to give myself encouragement - this is after all supposed to be 'rapid' - but on this occasion it seems to have backfired.
Thinking back I did have a period of about 3 hours yesterday when I didn't feel that great. Apart from one other time - I have been feeling better on the ND than on my usual diet. Not sluggish, lethargic or tired. But yesterday afternoon I was a bit light headed. Had a couple of glasses of water but it did not pass quickly. Went to bed. Feel ok this morning. But weight was up. So I wonder if it was connected?
Hi, can I ask why water and not milk? Just reading through for ideas and noticed that water has be mentioned a few times. TiaDay 1 in the Newcastle diet house
Not a bad start, two strawberry slim fast shakes made with water, couple of cups of tea, leafy salad, cucumber, onion, egg(boiled),chicken glass of water, eaten after an hour in the gym, weights, boxing, kettle bell and cardio, see what the figures are like in the morning. I'm looking forward to my eyesight becoming less fuzzy, I know that the improvements come quick, just hope the weight loss is quicker this time seemed to stall after about six weeks.
All those partaking start as you mean to go on
Why aren't you testing? It's such vital information.
I understand Walmart do some modestly priced meters, and strips. Many people find they are able to test for a while, then ramp down the intensity of their testing, once they have a handle on what to expect from scenario/foods.
the DP is from insulin resistance, give it timeDay 11. Back on track. Weight is now down 4.6kg. Fasting blood average for the week is 5.7. Still a little high, but I am sure it has something to do with the dawn phenomenon. Which raises the question - why? So I might try changing the timing of my last calorie intake of the day. Another thing I could try is moving the veg supplement to lunch time - but that is difficult while I am working. It's tricky to get the balance right. Good news - BMI is now 25.1. I'm so close to being classified as 'normal'!
are you morbidly obese? if not, don't do shakes.Hi, I have been reading through and there are so many posts. I have some questions, I am sure the answers are somewhere in the posts, so please forgive me for asking again. I have read bits and pieces on other websites too. I would be grateful for advice and feedback please.
Thanks
- I am thinking slim fast as I can buy them locally and pre made for ease. And I have had them before and don't mind the taste. But I have read that some people are mixing with water and I don't know if the pre made shakes are a problem?
- I read that the replacement drinks are generally high sugar for tast but that the weight loss and low calorie still means this is 'safe', so how do people monitor the bg? Do you just do once a day?
- I am on metformin SR 2g, is the nd safe on meds? I know I should ask my GP or DN this, but the GP said not to go on the hflc diet becaus it's too much protein, and the nurse told me to eat carbs (but 'good'carbs that slow release), so I am guessing they wouldn't be pro ND.
I don't know, but that is the reason for now. I's hormonal. not as a result of what you are eating [ 800 cal]Will do - thanks Jack. How long did it take you to overcome it?
I have appt with DN in a couple of weeks, the last appointment with her was cut short as the surgery sent me to the wrong place. So I am hoping to have a bit more of a conversation this time - after all I already knew my weight. I will do some more reading and hang fire til then. Weight now puts me at a BMI of 30.6, down from 35.are you morbidly obese? if not, don't do shakes.
prof taylor has said doesn't really care about the make up of 800 cal.... it's a starvation diet over 8 weeks.
It can have severe complications
it needs medical supervision, you don't do it on a whim, you may need a referral to a bariatric HCP.
with ND, meds need close monitoring,
Low carb high fat is a normal protein diet and you adjust your BG and weight by the amount of carb you eat.
I have pm'ed you a list if ND info and a letter for your Dr about it. and LCHF info to look at over the next couple of weeksI have appt with DN in a couple of weeks, the last appointment with her was cut short as the surgery sent me to the wrong place.
