I can see why you might need regular checks - even on the LCHF. 13kg is a great result.LCHF
no,,I get my 3 month checks and I see the dr as and when other times...we generally don't have nurses here and they can't prescribe medication. Only a large practice would have a blood nurse and dressings.I can see why you might need regular checks - even on the LCHF. 13kg is a great result.
Ok - guess I'm pretty luck then. Our practice has prescribing nurses - and we get regular diabetic checks including feet (circulation) & bloods - and eye checks.no,,I get my 3 month checks and I see the dr as and when other times...we generally don't have nurses here and they can't prescribe medication. why would the surgery do eye checks? they wouldn't have the equipment would they?I am chasing my surgery for eye test for 6 months now and they don't even bother replying
I believe you can have a test done at most opticians and our local university also offers free eye screening. Our local NHS service moves around the county and sets up in temporary locations (community centres, offices etc) and we get called in. It is really a great service and we are looked after. But the point of being on the ND is to see if I can be taken off all meds and checks - so that these services can be used by people who genuinely need them - not by people like me who MAY be able to avoid using themeye test

Are you inviting me to comment @Arab Horse ?I am still waiting to start the ND. My DN asked for me to see a dieticion before I decide (I already have) because of my low BMI. I saw her last Wednesday and am still waiting to hear. If I have not heard by the end of next week I will start anyway as I have a foal due in July so I need to be eating and keep my strength up to manage Mum and Babe just in case I feel weak on the diet. Keep fingers crossed for a filly, much easier to manage than colts!
Please, no negative comments, Pipp, I really want to try and reverse my diabetes as I am so very limited in what I can eat without my BS going really high.
Thanks @brettsza. I have been unable to post, as been ill.
Same course of action. Letter, recorded delivery, stating you have not had a retinopathy check, and enquiring what the usual practise process is, and when you might expect an appointment.Sorry i meant retinopathy i dont know if they even sent anything to the whoever needs to do it
Should you lose weight, but not achieve the desired results, in terms of carbs you can eat, how do you regain the weight lost in the process? Gaining weight on a low carb diet isn't easy; trust me on that one. I haven't found a way to do it, and nor has @Bluetit1802 unless I am mistaken. So, again, you are stuck with a skeletal frame, or a period accepting currently unacceptable blood scores, whilst you eat more carbs to gain weight.
If I recall, Bluetit found if she increased fat further her bloods crept up a bit, but weight didn't go along with em. Correct me if I'm wrong, Blue.
