Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help.

I’m aware that many people find taking shakes horrible, and that it has chemicals in it and fresh food is better.

However, I’m looking for advice on people that are taking the shakes and the restricted diet.

I have three weeks to, not on metformin for about three months (discussed this with my nurse).

I miss having a coffee, and im pretty sure I can permanently smell bbq everywhere I go. Are you sticking to the specific foods? Are you reaching the 800 calories everyday?

I’m checking my bloods daily, most of the time it’s in the 4.5’s but randomly it gets to 5.7, with nothing changing. I’m drinking about three litres of water a day. I’ve planned when this finishes to do the 5:2 diet, with me having 800-1000 calories 5 days and 2 days have a balanced normal meal.

Has anyone cheated on the Newcastle diet in the 2 months and are something they shouldn’t but ended up having the diabetes in remission.

Hi, can I ask what shakes you are taking and the carb content? I am seriously considering jacking in my 1000mg of metformin a day and really giving this a go. I am so desperate to put this into remission and keep it that way and the weight off and iv lost 2 1/2 stone eating lchf but think it’s not drastic enough to cause the organ fat to shift, I would then go onto lchf to maintain. I was under the assumption it’s 3 x 200 cal shakes then you can have 200 cals vegetables but I think if you had a 400 cal meal of meat or fish and vegetables it would still work because I think it’s the fact it’s so low cal not what it actually is you consume.

Hi ya, I take the exante low sugar shakes. I’ll post the carb contents. They come in vanilla, chocolate, banana and coconut, coconut is lush, I found the chocolate not very nice.

The weight is dropping off, which is great however, I still seem to hold a lot of weight on my belly. I’d understand if I wasn’t exercising but I go to the gym 4 days a week.

If I’m honest, I rarely get to the 800 calorie limit, I’m generally under the calorie count, I just seem to take a shake and drink copious amounts of water and a shake in the evening. I wouldn’t recommend to do that.
