Newly diagnosed and want to feel "normal"

MsButtercup, I don't have any advice, as I am a newly diagnosed T2 too. I can say that I identify with what you wrote in your original post 100%. I am scared, angry, guilty, and sad. The only person that knows I have T2 is my husband. I can't bring myself to tell anyone else. I had my last child 19 months ago and I am scared to death that I won't be healthy and functioning when my kids are older and begin to have families of their own.

But...I plan to do it. You can do it too. I have been gleaning a wealth of information from this website since I joined yesterday. Hope you find it as helpful as I have.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The section of your post where you are talking about how tired you feel reminded me a lot of myself at diagnosis, so I'd advise you to have your Vitamin D levels tested. Being diagnosed as D3 deficient and being given supplementation made a huge difference to how I felt, even before I managed to get my BG levels under control.

If you search the forum for Newcastle Diet, you'll find quite a few stories of people who've managed to reverse their diabetes, so it's definitely possible.

Ditto this! Concurrent with my diagnosis, I started taking D3 5000 units/daily, Fish Oil, and a multi-vitamin. It has helped tremendously.
