So, earlier this year, I was diagnosed with prediabetes after a fasted blood glucose test and glucose tolerance test. I was told to lose a couple of pounds and work on my diet/ exercise while I waited for an appointment with an endocrinology appointment.
After meeting with the endocrinologist, more blood tests were taken, including anti-GAD antibodies. I went back in to the endocrinologist to find out that test had returned positive for antibodies. As my fasted blood sugar is at 5.1 after working on my diet/ exercise (was 6.3 earlier this year), I have been diagnosed with either Type 1 or LADA and I won't be put on insulin until my blood sugars worsen.
Right now, I'm being sent to a diabetes clinic and a dietician for a chat, but honestly my head is spinning a bit from the diagnosis alone.
Anyone else here been diagnosed with Type 1/ LADA in their mid twenties?
