Hi Everyone,
This is all new to me..
Just came home from a 3weeks stay at Great Ormond Street Hospital with my 14 yr old Autistic son.went from me thinking he had a bug, to calling an ambulance and ending up in intensive care with severe DKA.
His Blood Sugar is still very up and down .having to give a lot of corrections since being home, but have been told that's normal.
My son has been amazing. Being non verbal and having severe sensory issues I thought he would struggling with the 4 hourly bloods and up to 8 injections daily, but he has adjusted amazingly...Super Proud..

Well done to you both.My 12 year old grandaughter is not diabetic but is the same as your son. it amazes me how they adapt. She has just started her periods( which we were dreading),but she has coped really well.Being non verbal, she cant tell you how she is feeling. She is my little superstar.(as i am sure your son is too)
