@Winnie-the-Pooh Have you looked at dietdoctor.com? Or googled a food with keto,or low carb in the search. Loads of low carb websites out there. Some better than others. Just be aware of its location so you get the carb info right. The Americans and the Europeans including the U.K. all count net carbs as standard so no deductions of fibRE required. USA list total and then subtract fibER.

Also loads of Facebook recipe and support groups and Pinterest. Most foods have a low carb version. Some better imo, some nothing like the original, some hard to tell the difference. It’s all about finding replacement foods for me - but not necessarily trying to be the same thing. Just so long as they are tasty.

flour wise coconut and almond flour are the most common alternatives. But amounts aren’t a straight swap so use a recipe or look up comparison amounts. “Mug cakes” using coconut flour and without baking powder are quite scone like imo.

Thanks . I have never cooked in my whole life . Well only once and my ex bf got poisoned ( that is not why he is an ex) .

My bf makes omelet for breakfast . He can also make very good pasta but I cannot eat pasta .
I have always eaten out but very healthy and fresh ( no junk food and mostly fresh meat and vegetables ).

I gather the recipes you mention need some knowledge of cooking ( I even don’t know how to do an egg ). So I guess I have to hire a cooking tutor or give a cooking class to my lovely bf as a gift

Ok. That’s a starting point I’m not familiar with. Though I do remember phoning my mum when I left home asking how long to boil potatoes for! The problem with eating out is we have little to no knowledge of the ingredients and oils etc.

In this era of YouTube would that help? Quite a lot of low carb things - eggs are a good starting point - are pretty easy. I don’t do faff or complicated often. The quicker and simpler the better.

Depends how willing to experiment you are. Some total non cooks find they have a love for cooking once they start. Would your Bf be willing to start the ball rolling ?

if you do follow recipes read the whole thing through first before you start. No counting the times I’ve been surprised by a line suggesting I should have been doing something “meanwhile” and only find it “after”
