@lizziewizzie and @Shellbellx you are seeing the NHS/Government diet advice in operation. They tell you to eat carbs because that is the "knowledge". You'd be right in thinking that eating fewer carbs requires less insulin and therefore makes flatlining blood glucose levels much easier.

Many T1s on the forum do this in spite of what the NHS tells you, and it is how people were advised to eat as t1s going back 30+ years. The trick, for a type 1, is to learn about carb counting and insulin adjustment. You don't need to eat carbs at all if you don't want to. Just because NHS dieticians tell you to doesn't make it right.
