Hi i am 27.. I still for a month feel thirsty and tired and i lost weight then went to check my sugar fasting was 219 .. I had asiton in blood.. I stayed at the CCU for five days with potassium and insulin and sodium and calcium then i became okay and went home with prescription as follows:
24 unit levemir and 48 unit novorapid a day

This was getting me so tired and my sugar was very low and everyday it becomes 49 and 55
I went to the DR and he decreased the units to 16 levemir and 26 novorapid

And still get low sugar then the dr decreased to be 10 levemir and 18 novorapid and i got low sugar once more
I stopped insulin finally and now i take janumet and cidofage tablets

I do not get low sugar anymore .. My question is can i recover and sugar levels get back to be normal as i have no one in my family is diabetic and i am not one of who eats a lot as my weight is 60 and my tall is 165

As well i eat no sugary things and i use diet food once i knew that i have diabetes

How long does it take to get back normal levels of sugar

Sometimes starting on an insulin regime will give your natural insulin production a break, and when it can will start again. There is no specific time scale which it will last for.
Or, you may do very well on your current diet without needing insulin having changed your diet which would probably mean you are not type 1.
Keep monitoring and discussing with gp
