Newly diagnosed

Hi
I still work as a postman (23years) and trying not to feel sorry myself but I'm 40 now and feel very unsure about how to cope with diabetes.
I have had lots of advice but it's so much to take in.

@Glen40, and other newly diagosed posters on this thread: welcome onboard :) - we are a friendly and knowledgeable lot around here.

In addition to Daisy's excellent welcome post, I wish to add that personally I gleaned a lot of understanding of what diabetes was about from the following site: http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/index.php

Glen, I also think that your work as a postman will give you some extra advantages in controlling your diabetes - namely in the form of exercise :) - a very good thing for diabetics. - It should be an aim for all of us on this forum, but not all of us are able to do so.

Best, annelise

Thank you but I haven't worked since being diagnosed as damaged my ankle ligaments and only found out I was diabetic on a routine blood test as had a stroke.
I hope all will be well work wise when I return and thanks for the welcome.
