I am 31, newly diagnosed with type2 last month. Have been trying to get BG levels to normal range, but one thing bothering.

I am on insulin one rapid acting in the morning and one premixed in the night. Fasting BG is normal 4.4 to 5, but soon after waking up it shoots up to 8.33 to 9.5! Because of this I prefer to workout after breakfast now, but still it starts to raise even if I walk around a little. Has anybody faced the same issue and what could be the cause?

Sorry, can you clarify, your user name is Type1new but you have been diagnosed as Type 2?

Feet on the floor effect. It's your liver thinking it's being helpful by dumping glucose in your blood stream to get you going for the day.

Hi. That's a slightly unusual mix of insulin types. What is you BMI like? At the young age of 31 and if you are slim there is a possibility you are T1 (LADA) and not T2 (it's not clear from your profile which you think you are). There is no need to do anything specific at present but see how the BS behaves over the coming months and if it creeps up into the teens do ask the GP to review your insulin types. You should have an HBa1c test etc within 3 to 6 months anyway as a new insulin user.
