newsnight

Interesting replies from the sponsors. It seems that having been a long term sponsor is enough to qualify them to continue that way.

I bet the tobacco companies said the same!!

Great article dawnmc - thanks.

Follows on from the first episode of 'Men who made us' talking about HFCS.

I'd imagine like any other sporting event the sponsorship deals are open to the highest bidder, you only have to look at the advertising boards at football grounds where you'll see Alcohol, Fast food and Confectionery being advertised.

Well the 3rd episode of 'the men who made us fat' is on Thursday night I think.

I thought the same when I saw coca cola adverts right around the pitch during Euro 2012 ... suppose you have to hand it to the companies to associate their unhealthy product with someone supremely healthy like elite sport

Bit of a pig though when the only sponsors are the fat food cats. So what effectively they are saying is that without us there would be no olympics, sod your health.

I wonder when the Government will listen and wake up, Interesting how Obesity is now a poor/low income related problem a clear indication of the poor diet choices being given at the supermarkets, and the fact sugar is being added to nearly all cheap processed foods, coupled with a lack of education being given to the population. A disaster in the making.
