I've just got back from a meeting with a dietician who tried very hard to persuade me to eat a "more balanced diet" and not low carb and even tried to give me a copy of NHS, stuff your face guidelines.
She was worried that I didn't have enough vitamins (I told her I took supplement), she was worried about my protein intake (I told her I eat meat or fish everyday). She was worried about my calcium (I told her I eat cheese, yogurt almonds and salmon).Final worry was that I might not have enough fibre intake (I told her I ate avocados, broccoli, raspberries, sprouts, almonds and celery.)
I am now discharged and do not have to see her again. Well-meaning but her hands are tied by the NHS.
I am pleased to note the sensible and realistic commentary made by this site on NHS recommendations
