NHS Healthy Living App

Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Diet only
So I was referred to this online course for type 2s by my GP. The information videos are generally okay; however, they insist that most men should have around 300g of carbohydrates each day and that the lowest healthy limit, even for diabetics, is 130g a day! And of course, simple carbs and especially fats are the real problem, so if people would just stop eating so many chips, everything would be hunky-dory.

Anyway [sigh].

What really annoyed me was a glucose logging tool included on the website. Very clunky to use, and after I'd made a few entries, I realised every time point was an hour off! Even stranger, it proved impossible to add an entry for after 2157 - the hours start at 00 and go up to 21 while the minutes start at 00 and go up to 57. And while there is an edit button, re-entering the time doesn't seem to make a difference; still out by an hour. There also seems to be no way to delete an entry once made.

Has anyone else had fun with the Healthy Living App?

I've just stopped connecting "NHS" and "healthy" in any form.

Visited a friend in hospital today, complete bedlam.

How anyone is expected to get better whilst in there is beyond me.

If the outdated diet advice is anything to go by they probably used a sinclair zx spectrum to design the glucose logging tool

An update from one of their support people:

"After testing the blood glucose tracker, I can also confirm that the readings aren't logging correctly.
We recently released some changes to the rest of the platform which has perhaps caused a problem in the tools section thanks to your email, we are now investigating this and hopefully, it will be working as it should soon."

"At present, there is no option to delete data that you have previously entered, however, it is a feature request that the development team are working on."

Nice to know they're working on it, I guess. Maybe they've upgraded to a Sinclair QL now ;)
