At Low Carb Breckenridge Nina gave a presentation of where they have got to so far with the Nutrition Coalition .

The Nutrition Coalition has been established to lobby for a change in US dietary guidelines in 2020. The guidelines form the bedrock of the world's nutrition agenda. Amazingly the Coalition has made significant progress so far with both Low carbs and saturated fat being on the agenda.

I am working with Nina to try to do what I can to help this initiative. She is looking for your support in a petition to request that any dietary guidelines must be evidence based - far too much of the current guidelines does not meet that criteria.

Your help would be much appreciated !

Anyone interested in the work of the Nutrition Coalition can find it here.

As far as I understand it the Public Health Collaboration UK and a new sister outfit in the US will also be contributing to the process.

Please can anyone who has achieved success at controlling their diabetes through PLEASE SUBMIT A COMMENT to the committed charged with reviewing the guidelines.
I have just done so. I described my diet, my results, I enclosed a copy of the diet I follow ( ie under 50g crbs, around 90g proteins and the balance fats excluding seed oils ), a copy of my blood test at diagnosis and one year later ( anonymised ) and a sample from the Libre.
I requested that the commitee did the following things:
a) stop demonising meat and saturated fat
b) consider publishing guidelines making it clear that an LCHF option may be a beneficial choice for those with metabolic problems including diabetes and
c) look into the possibility that it is the switch to polyunsaturated seed oils that has created our obesity and diabetes epidemic because they do not trigger the same satiation mechanisms as saturated fats .

The more people drive home messages that the current dietary guidelines are not working, the better !
