Nitrofurantoin making me feel SO tired

Heyy guys. Just a quick question about nitrofurantoin. I take one a day, at night time. When I wake up I am extremely sleepy. I can barely keep my eyes open right now and I feel SO drowsy. They're 100mg. Is this normal? Thanks
 
Most antibiotics can make you feel sleepy, dependant on the person and of course the doseage, if it continues I would tell the Dr and definitely don't drive.
 
Hi chloesnavy. I went through a bad spell of uti's a few years ago and ended up on nitrofurantoin. Its a very effective antibiotic but it is very strong! It will def make you feel tired and it made me feel nauseated so dont fret if that happens.
 
Hi @Chloesnavy I've just finished a course of nitrofurantoin and I could barely keep my eyes open! It also made me feel extremely naseous, and a bit 'whacked out', for the first few days. Definitely talk to your doctor if it continues though
