Vodka n orange juice isn't too bad if u eat chips or a good sieve of carbs before and after that's what I do and my bloods stay good

thanx for ur input guys. will probly go back to diet coke, use to drink it b4 then decided oj was better at preventing hangovers

With spirits like vodka, gin you need carbs so Orange juice is ok I drink vodka and lemonade. Things like Malibu, archers you need to be careful. I think this is what I remember from dafne

That depends on whether you are type 1 or 2.

The op is type 2, so is very unlikely to need carbs to balance the BG dropping effect of spirits.
Most type 2s milk the dropping effect as much as they can (within reason ;) )

Vodka and tonic, vodka and lemonade, or keep your vodka in the freezer and go for lovely gloopy shots that ice up your tiny shot shot glass - mmmm!

Ahahhhhh. The fresh orange will be the culprit. Don't Schwepps do a slimline orange drink or is that too sweet and yuckie for you?

fanta orange zero mixed with voddy,,nice drink,,no carbs :)

AndBreathe - yeah too sweet

Simon84 is that commonly sold in pubs, as that is what im asking about (when i go out)

i didnt read your topic proper so missed that,,,no i dont think they do,,,its wot i have at home,,,sorry 4 misunderstandin

There have been a few threads on this forum where people have asked for diet coke and been given full coke when out. I'd personally stick to wine when out to be on the safe side. But you might not like wine obviously.

Best to check the bottle pre-pouring of it .
Refuse the on tap coke/soda/tonic water completely .
In the trendy bars .

It is easy to mistake full sugar coke for the diet coke and vice versa .
Same with tonic water - I have found .
I always pre-check the bottle before I or they (bar staff) pour it .

This way - you can be in the 'know' of what it 'really is' you are drinking .

Real orange juice will spike and raise the blood sugars .
Best avoided .
They add sugar/glucose to sweeten this .
