Beyond heaven. They have been my favourites since childhood and I now feel an addiction coming on and I forgot to tell you they have chocolate in them too.

Oooo, Ooooh, an even better thought.

Get meringue. Dip in melted chocolate and crushed macadamias. Sandwich together with a mix of marscapone and cream.

And I thought I had cured my sweet tooth.

Ged help me.

You have no idea how deep my head is hung. I'm ashamed of me, I really am. It's not been two hours yet, but in the name of all things decent and forgiveness, I will do it now. Hang on........

7.9

STOP PRESS!!!!!!!

I have re-read the box, this time WITH my reading glasses on. 5.3g carbs of which 5.2 are sugars.
I shan't be eating those again and don't say just eat one, I live alone.

Aww but you enjoyed them, that's the main thing. ((hugs)) And now you can't have them anymore... soo... um... I'll just shut up now...

bum - I guess some things are just too good to be true :(

well, even with the higher carbs your PP wasn't actually THAT bad - not great, but not awful ... let's say that maybe buying a single meringue might be a future option!

I'm going to lie down with the quilt over my head. I'm so sorry I built everyones hopes up.

I'm away 'till Sunday, so I'll keep quiet and eat lettuce for four days.

seriously love - don't do yourself in just yet - 7.9 and LESS than hours ... you don't a foot-ectomy based one little misadventure ... keep your chin up and your glasses on - and maybe take a brisk walk round the block! xxx

weight for weight, there is more egg white, but if the numbers are right, they have a teaspoon of the pure white and deadly in each one.

I don't know the science of making meringues; is it the sugar molecules, the way it dissolves/binds/reacts with the egg white or is it simply the granular nature of it. I'm going to try making some with my z-sweet samples.

if you like meringues try using splenda instead of sugar and then you have a completely carb free meringue - when I read your first post i thought it sounded sus! - why do they always put nutrition info in small print!

Splenda will work in cooking because it doesnt produce a bitter taste after heat - other sweeteners do !

If anyone tries to make them with splenda and suceeds please post the recipe,. I've not suceeded yet. I would like to be able to make a Pavlova without sugar.

trhe bes meringues are cooked a low temps.
I make them with Splenda and they'r very brittle. I'm going to try with a little Fructose added in.

Hello Hana.
I have tried to make them with powder sweetener with no luck. Could you give me your recipe please?

in meringue heaven anticipation

Hmmm - do you think there's any milage in trying to grind Xylitol to a smaller grain? Because I love the taste of it and it does nothing to my BG readings ... and I would love some meringues!!

Hi ,
Have just experimented with Fruisana bought from the local health shop 19g carbs per 100g compared to 65g sugar 100g glucose (thats what the packet tells me anyway) Have just put in oven 10 shells made from 2 egg whites 50g fruisana(=8.5g) carbs) and 1/4 teaspoon cornflour. If i've calulated correctly then each meringue shell is .9g carbs and a sandwiched shell = 1.8g carbs. Depending what they taste like. Probably easier to go to Tesco, but you can always add chopped Macadamia nuts to this recipe or good quality melted chocolate. Should be ready by 3pm til then................................................................................................I'm drooling with anticipation
