Hi good peeps!
I'm 68, recently diagnosed prediabetic. I wake up many times at night with high body heat, racing heart and sweaty, particularly round the neck. This passes on moving about and after a pee, tho that's not always needed.
I'm not on meds of any kind and hydrate well. 20 years into post menopause.
It's driving me nuts - any ideas please?
Thank you

Hot sweats can indeed be a symptom of extreme hypo, but it can also be indicative of many other things. If it were a hype a wander around wouldn't fix it, just an intake of carbs. I think you should consult your GP.

We are all different but, for me, cold sweats at night are an indication of hypos (lower than 4mmol/l) and hot sweats are an indication of high blood sugars.
If you are not on any medication, a high level may be more likely, especially if you need a pee and exercise eases the symptoms. Excess urination is an indication your kidneys are trying to flush something (glucose in the case of diabetes) out of your body.

The only way to know is to get a blood glucose meter and test.
