Color-Changing, Needle-Free Glucose Sensor

Biolinq Shine, a quarter sized glucose range monitoring device displaying a blue light

Some interesting tech has just been given the nod by the FDA. It’s a sensor called the Biolinq Shine. It’s a needle free sensor for people with Type 2 diabetes who don’t use insulin. It’s an adhesive patch, the size of a quarter. It uses a colour coded LED indicator, rather than a numeric display to show whether you are above or below range. It’s been cleared for T2s over 22 years old.

Here is the link.

Ed sorry I didn’t expect the pic to be so large.

My first thought is, if this is placed on the arm where libres are then it’ll be awkward to read. The article doesn’t say where it should be placed. I personally prefer exact figures but I’m a bit of a numbers geek!
