Normal spike post meal

Lets just say two people ate fish and chips, one with type one diabetes on a honeymoon period while the other was non diabetic. How would their blood sugar spikes post meal differ? I.e whats likely peak figures say an hour after the meal
 
me and my wife had they same meal a week ago and we both tested a hour after,mine was 7 and my wifes was 7.2,I'm going through the honeymoon period now.just been to cinema and shared a box of sweet pop corn with my wife and sandwich and snacking on nuts,didn t go above 6 while there. just got in and I'm at 3.8.

Not a straightforward answer...Non diabetic is very efficinet, but diabetics can vary depending on; Insulin regime, activity level, Insulin sensitivity and quite a few other factors. theres a post called issues with clinical guidelines where we discussed this same topic..worth a look if your interested.
 
I once tested a friend of mine who is not diabetic shortly after a meal, and her BS was 13! I flipped! But as it happened we were in the company of an actual doctor at the time, and he said that if you test a non-diabetic a very short time after eating, their blood sugar could be that high. Now that's a long time ago, and I can't say it's right, but I knew her for years after that and she had no signs of diabetes. So the "7.8" limit for non-diabetics may not be universal and it may be for two hours after eating (or some other specified time). Having said that I tray to maintain mine at 7.8 or less one and a half hours after eating. Better safe than sorry.
