What are the risks? Going on a cruise in 6 weeks and hearing that it us rife now on the ship! I'm scared and dont know what to do. Any advice please.

Only about 1% of all reported Norovirus outbreaks globally, happen on cruise ships.
People get ill sometimes, these stories get hyped up by the news people who just want a sensational headline.
Relax, enjoy yourself.

Appreciate tgat but I've heard this from other passengers on the same ship as me in the last month. I really want to know how dangerous it is to a diabetic and if anyone on here has had norovirus.

I have not had norovirus, but people react differently to viruses, depending if they have other (diabetic or non-diabetic) underlying medical issues. Your hospital diabetes team may be able to advise you on how dangerous norovirus is to diabetics.

The decision is for you to make. You may have a wonderful holiday. But if you decide not to go this time, there will be other cruises.

Friends are just back from one that had an outbreak. He got poorly
, she didnt, even though they were confined to cabin for 2 days (because he was ill, not whole ship).
Best prevention is regular hot water and soap handwashing eg before and after each meal and using toilet. Sanitisers dont prevent notorious.
I don't know anything about t1, sorry
