I know there is another thread but Im going to stick to this one if thats ok......
My diagnosis and treatment has basically been just me mucking about with doses and food and reading what information I can.
I saw my diabetes dietician a couple of weeks after diagnosis and was told to keep to a ratio of 1 unit to 20 carbs as I was honeymooning but if my bloods went up then I would need to adjust the dose. So I stuck to 1 in 20 for a couple of weeks but I seem to have to constantly adjust it as my bloods are all over the place at the min (had a 20 at crimbo).
The dietician put my name down for the DAFNE but like others have said they told me that I wouldn't really get full benefit from the info until after a year.
Im seeing the doctor for that HB1 thing at the end of the month so I will get to see how well I have done for the past 6 months ha ha.
