You mentioned your brother the other day. Could he take you to A&E, or if you don't want to do that, could you stay with him (or a friend) tonight Ally?

Don't be afraid to make that call Ally.

Do you have any idea why your bloods are so high today? I'm not looking for a way to pass judgement, just trying top understand if your body is showing a mind of its own, or if a craving got a bit too much.

Do you have a decent neighbour who would come into you if you felt any worse, to wait until help comes? And, can you keep your phone by your side?

You really have had a struggle.

Bless you I hope your feeling a bit better, I know how worried you must be feeling, please drink lots it will help to wash out the excess glucose from your blood and keep your kidneys working, if you can I would phone your dr first thing and tell them what happened and ask them for a meter, after this episode they should give you one, you can always keep the new code free for a spare,

Take care Ally, make sure you see the doc tomorrow, and if you feel any worse call that ambulance no matter what time it is. Thinking of you.

Hope you went to hospital and will start to feel better soon.
GP practices have to try and cut down unplanned admissions to hospitals.... You must het to speak to your gp or nurse about a care plan and getting a meter and strips... And now you can tell them that you've been in hosp unplanned and you really need this care plan and help with a meter to stop yhis happening again.
I hope the hospital will keep you in if you have gone until they get your bloods under 10.0 at least, unlike last time.

Even if you are get yourself over to your doctors as soon as you can, what's happening can't be right and you need to get sorted out.

If you felt tired last night, you must be absolutely exhausted now, if you were up most of the night. What were your bloods when they checked them in the hospital?

I really, really hope you can get some real help and direction from your doctor today. They really have to supply you with some proper tools to manage this thing. Diet is always going to be crucial in diabetes, but I can't understand why you have not been given a meter and strips on prescription already, now you are in Gliclazide (I believe?). I know it hasn't brought your bloods down low yet, but it can, and you need to be able to recognise that in your scores.

Moreover, I think you have to agree with them what you need to do in various circumstances, including if your numbers go alarmingly high. I don't know how you feel about it, but when I read how things have been handled, it seems they are trying to take a very light touch with you, and it's just not working for you. You are the one who suffers the consequences of this, not them.

Looking at the clock, you will probably be hanging on the line to a horrid queueing system, but if you would like some help building a list of questions to ask, and things you want (like a meter, contact numbers, referral to a specialistcommunity diabetes team, if there is one, and so on), please let me know, and I will help where I can. Between your very high numbers and a lack of sleep your mind is bound not to be in the best place.

I realy feel for you Ally,they should never have sent you home at that time in the morning on your own,you must be tired out,you are very brave,hope all goes well for you today.
