not feeling well

@ally1
Thank goodness for the hospital, really put a squib up his bum, now's your chance, let him have both barrels, how the hell can he expect you to manage without testing, its stupid and so dangerous, as others have said get it down on paper and don't let him fob you off, you need to be testing otherwise you will be spending a lot more time being scared and that will be doing you no good
I know you would rather not have meds, but at least with insulin you have the chance of bringing down those levels quickly when and if needed, sometimes mine spike for no reason and I know without my meds I would be scared s***less, but that's your choice, I didn't have a choice.
Good luck and give him hell.

thank you all for being concerned and good luck messages
saw my gp and felt like banging my head on the wall, he asked if i drove, and i said why, he replied if i did, then he would make me an appointment to see the diabetic nurse. he wants to see me again on thursday.
i,m going to tell a little white lie and say i,m learning to drive to see what he will then do
the other thing is, is that i,ve had a bad headache since last week and no idea if this is diabetes related

What did he say about a meter, and why does he want to see you again on Thursday? Wasn't today's double appointment long enough? Did he have anything else to say? I hope one of the others can suggest something useful about the headache, I'm afraid I can't unless it is anxiety/stress related, or maybe your body reacting to less carbs. What are your numbers like today?

Hello Ally. Has he changed your medication or given you a meter? Was he any help? How are you feeling?

Ally your condition is clearly worse than mine, but I think I know how you feel. You go into the doctor tell them all your problems then leave only to realise they have actually done nothing. I hope he does better on Thursday.

Shocking treatment from your doctors. Have a list of things to discuss with you on Thursday. Would it be possible for you to take someone with you? where do you live?

bluetit, no idea about BS levels today as gp didn,t test it and as yet no replacement meter
gp said he wants to see how i,m feeling
tomorrow i,m going to make an appointment with the diabetic nurse

mo53, still wasn,t given a meter, meds to stay the same

@ally
Something is just not adding up. You had a 20 minute appt with GP so did he not discuss your diet, change of meds or anything else?
20 second question on "do you drive" which is logical actually considering how ill you say you feel. There must have been more said in the other 19 minutes 40 seconds. If not, why is GP wanting to see you again on Thursday.

Something in this is not adding up....

tracieo, i live in a village near ipswich, i will ask my neighbour if she can go with me as she is good at getting things done

donnellysdog, i,m getting desperate
gp did mention my diet and told him what i have been eating, he did mention that i,m eating alot of bananas

i,ve started to write down more questions to ask
also i,m going to ask about being referred to the diabetic clinic at the hospital as i,m not happy

Can you give up the bananas Ally? Sadly, they can be really difficult for us. hen do you eat them? Are they your "go-to" snack, or do you have them with a meal?

i have a banana after each meal, i won,t buy them anymore

There has been previous advice about bananas and not eating them.

I realise that you are getting desperate, but last week you had a doughnut? Now, I know other people may well think well a doughnut isn't that bad, but it is for you Ally when you haven't managed to get under 8.0 with your levels.

You have had a lot of advice from people here about lowering your carbs. You need to really stick to lowering them.

On a different note, why did your GP not want to alter your medication? Was this actually discussed?
