Hello all...

I found this forum again after a while...took me a while and had to re register as my old email account I no longer use and forgot the password!

I have been diabetic 4 years or so...18 months on byetta...this past year or so on levamir...glicazide and metformin...

I got my levels down to normal..(thanks to a cyclicc vomiting bug that took away my desire to eat for over three months ...this reduced my weight ..cholestoral and insulin dose back in july and have now lost control again..not getting scary readings of 16 and 17's like I was this time last year but its creeping up to 8.6 in the mornin...I kept to my diet best I could but the higher the levels crept up despite the diet the more depressed i got and the diet went out the window and i've put 8lb back on... trying really hard to get a grip but its hard...

Getting a reaction to the insulin re inflamation in injection sites...my timing of the shots is out due to shift work...I try to inject between 8pm and 9.30pm....most nights (levimir) ...

I cant believe I let it get out of control..again..i was doing so well....I'm really angry at myself...but cant help thinking that maybe the levimir is just not good enough to manage my diabetes...

Have upped my insulin gradually 2mls every month or so when reading crept up...was 48 now back up to 60...was reading with interest about the liver dumping and the dawn syndrome...

Wont really know for sure until I see the DN next friday..had my blood work done last friday and am totally demoralised cus I fasted from 6.15pm till 9.40 and my reading was 7.9 that means I'm gonna get a stiff talking too and the What happened and I'm so dissapointed in you chat....I will lose it i know I will.....

I've had a stonking cold thats lasted for over three weeks..before that my bs's were 6.5 and 7.4 i upped the levimir to 60 to try and get the levels down...had the opposite effect!

Sorry If i'm going on...its just I've gone from 4.5 and 4.3 to double and I'm really scared and upset that Its gone t**s up again....and needed to vent to people who understand...

Any ideas and suggestions appreciated....

Getting it all out on the page really helped me actually...I was sliding back into a pity party and denial and reading through some relevant threads on this site has led me to why my sugars were climbing.

One of the factors being my levo thyroxine has a moderate drug interaction with Levemir...something i was never told about before being put on it a year ago...I'm not happy about it but thinking practically I dont suppose the diabetic nurse was aware of it either or chose to ignore that .....something I wil be taking up with her next week and talking to the doc about...

The battle of a sugars seems to be on the turn too...5.6 yesterday...6.5 this morning...all by doing what some one suggested here..by eating a small amount of carbs b4 bed to give the liver something to work on and stop it from dumping .....last night it was two little cheese crackers! I have made some modifications to my diet...I still have a small treat..by denying myself I cave in and gorge...by a small amount I kill the craving and feel more in control!

So thanks to you guys here i've got me fight back..i never really lost it I was just under the covers hiding ...and although no one other than your good self replied to my pity post...it did what I needed it made me see that it was up to me to sort this out ...so cheers xxx
