Hi, bit confused where I went wrong last night with bg levels, don't know if anyone can shed any light. Tested before tea, was 4.3, ate a couple of dolly mixtures. 10 mins later for tea I had chicken &parma ham, with broccoli n cauli & cheese sauce. After I had 1 min muffin (ground almonds, sweetener, cocoa powder, egg, vanilla essence) with a few strawb's an some cream. I had 4 units of insulin, tested just over 2 hours later as I was going to bed... 17.0!!!!! ***?!

Corrected, tested 20 mins later and was 15.0 so went to bed knowing it was coming down. Woke at 4am, 13.7, ***? Woke at 6am, 11.8. When I got up at 7:30... 6.5!

So confused I thought I was having a pretty much carb free tea which is why I only 'pumped' for a small amount, mainly for the strawb's, 17.0 shocked the life out of me, especially when I was 4.3 to begin with. Anyone got any idea where I went wrong plz? Xx

Do you have an infection? Are you normally bothered by the heat?

jim

Nope no infections, the only way I'm usually effected by the heat is I feel a bit high (thirty, dry mouth) but always on the low side when I test, never usually go high with the heat x

lol could eat that many, but i had only 4, i went from 6.2 to 9.3, i had cream on them, i used to eat loads of fruit oranges every day as well as other, i thought i was being healthy, i wonder if thats why i'm so badly affected, my insides screaming no sugar please

Quite a big rise in your bg. It might just be that you simply need more insulin to match your food, or it could just be a one-off reading with no possible explanation on why your bg went high, the only way of knowing is have the same meal again and see what results you get.

I'm going to have the same meal again tonight and see what happens lol it's bugging me how it happened so thought in best to find out ASAP thank for everyone's input :-) x
