Type 2 Nothing seems to help control my sugars...


but maybe you can cope with more than 20 grams especially if you do get them spread more equally over your meals, and if the carbs you choose is not high spiking kinds like fruits are.. if the carbs you eat are low n glycemic index

I an 5 ft 2ins, female and 8 st, I honestly think it's not your diet but your medication. Check it out with your doctor. PS What's your lipid profile including ratios?
 
Sorry you are having such a bad time and an unhelpful GP to boot. I'm type 1 and was initially told I was type 2 6 months ago. After a very disappointing 5 weeks of failing to get my blood sugar below 10 with meds, I did my own research and got more assertive with the diabetic nurses. I have 2 brothers with type 1, I also have coeliac, thyroid disease and asthma. I had lost 1.5 stone over 4 months and felt exhausted. I am 62. Now I'm just on twice a day humalog mix and I feel fabulous. It really annoys me that the age criteria is all they look at. I wasn't obese, told all about my family and autoimmune conditions and was told that it could only be type 2. Since then I've met a few people who don't respond to tablets, have never been overweight and have family members with type 1. It's very depressing when meds dont work! There seems to be some kind of blind spot with recognising type one in adults. P.S When I eventually got my GAD score it was in the thousands. Make sure you get this done.
 
I agree with the others that it is not your diet that is causing the problem that sounds pretty good it is more likely to be your medication that needs adjusting . The very small portion of occasional rice and roasties and the once a week pasta would not suddenly cause the changes you have been getting You really should see your doctor or nurse before you make any more changes to your diet
