You are having a doctor treating your infection. Did you tell them about your worries and ask if you have reason to worry?so one year later after diagnosis after my first blood sugar level initially went down i was discharged for a bit and I carried on having sugar. this week I had been walking and i noticed a cut on my foot bleeding some pus was on it. I went doctor he prescribed some cream which I will get tommorow. I am very scared I dont want to lose my legs! help! has anyone been in this situation?
Have you had a recent hba1c? I've been diabetic for 55 years and still have all my toes etc. Yes, I've had numerous blisters and sprains in my time, but so far they've all healed up fine.no idea i dont know my readings
If the cream doesn’t work, go back to the GP or pharmacy.thanks all for the messages. I have just got the cream and will be applying it to my feet daily. Will post back if there are any concerns.
have you personaly had any type of cut on the soles of your feet? just curious. If the cream doesn’t work, go back to the GP or pharmacy.
Those of us with any sort of diabetes need to take care of our feet and check them daily. This is particularly important if you have loss of sensation in your feet / neuropathy. Feet should be checked by HCP at diabetes review. As should blood glucose level in HbA1c test. I would also keep watch on blood glucose levels by frequent tests with a meter, myself. As already mentioned, it is generally when blood glucose levels are high that nerve damage occurs. This can lead to numbness or reduced feeling in feet, which in turn can lead to being less able to feel damage and injury to feet.
Yes, I have.have you personaly had any type of cut on the soles of your feet? just curious.
Hi,have you personaly had any type of cut on the soles of your feet? just curious.
Yes, quite a few, some including bruising. Most are football related. While my BG was high any cut/bruise took forever to heal and bled constantly. BGs normal - cuts close up quickly and heal in a couple of days.have you personaly had any type of cut on the soles of your feet? just curious.
