Novopen getting stuck mid-dose

Lately when I am using my novopen to inject levemir I get approximately halfway through 10 units when the end won't press anymore. If I let go of it and then press it again it comes out.

Usually after this has happened when I take the needle out some insulin comes back out of my leg and is often left on the end of the needle too!

Any ideas about where I am going wrong?

I have recently switched from humulin I using a luxura hd pen and never had issues with this.
 
Do you change the needle every time I had this problem with solo star disposable pens discovered if I changed the needle every shot this didn't happen
 
Does sound like you have a faulty pen so you need to replace it as you may not be getting an accurate dose, you can either ask your gp to prescribe one or ask your DSN, but you should always keep a spare insulin pen at all times.

As for you leaking insulin from the leg, keep the needle in the skin after you have finished injecting the insulin and count to 12, this way it allows for the insulin to absorb, you'll always get a bit of residue insulin on a needle and so there's nothing to worry about there.
