Novorapid Echo Pen

Hi, I am currently on Novorapid disposable pens however at a recent appointment with my community diabetic nurse they have suggested I think about changing over to the Novorapid Echo refill pen which is normally given to children The reason I was advised to consider this is I inject relatively small doses of insulin and the Echo pen allows the user to inject half units so can match carb intact more accurately. I welcome thoughts of any adults out there using the Echo pen.

I use an echo pen for the half units. I was switched over from disposable pens earlier this year.

It has been great so far to be able to take half a unit off or add half a unit on for tighter control as I'm fairly insulin sensitive and considered honeymooning by my consultant and DSN.

It may typically be prescribed to children but the maximum dose is far higher than I have needed so far.

I use the echo pen, the 1/2 doses are so beneficial, if you do get an echo pen, make sure you get two, it also tells you when your last dose was and how much ( like a sundial). All the best.
