@Lotties a more recent interview with David Diamond, Ph.D. appeared on my YouTube feed last night, Diet Doctor Podcast #27. Definately worth a listen. I listened to it as I was cleaning the kitchen and was reminded of all the reasons I don't take a statin medication. Like Dr. Diamond, I remain unconvinced that statins are helpful for most people. That said, if I had family members dying of heart disease, and I don't, I would find a way to get a thorough evaluation to determine whether or not I'm at a higher risk and the best course of action, but only after researching it thoroughly. Somewhere in the last half of the interview, he discusses coagulation problems in FH, then toward the end explains that the drug discussed in this thread lowers LDL circulating in the blood by pushing it into the cells which he fears will be problematic for the liver. Whether or not this happens is unknown because the drug has only be studied for 2 years. For now, I will continue to make healthy choices I began five years ago. The LCHF/Keto diet, walking, keeping stress levels low, and getting adequate sleep, all of which has greatly improved my health. :)
