Numbness - should I be worried?

Type of diabetes
Type 2
I have had Type 2 diabetes for 6 years which is quite well controlled with the aid of metformin, gliclazide, sitagliptin and a low sugar, low carb diet.

I had a caesarean section 35 years ago which left me with a tummy overhang, I believe it is called an apron. The thinner I am the more the fold overhangs. Exercise will not get rid of it.

I noticed a large, red, bleeding patch underneath it and saw the practice nurse, not my usual diabetic nurse. She consulted with the GP and some antifungal cream has been prescribed which will hopefully cure it.

When I told her I was worried because I can't feel it - she said it must be very sore - she just shrugged and said that is because I am diabetic.

Is this right? Should I be concerned about the lack of feeling in which is a very sore looking patch of skin about 4 inches square?

My friend has this and successfully had a tummy tuck on the NHS . The stretchy skin has lost its feeling - just keep it clean and dry and continue with cream
