I would happily have followed any advice that told me to eat wholemeal bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and gnocchi, I love it all and make wonderful bread, pasta and gnocchi.
I do however have a bg meter and test strips on prescription and I test frequently when there is something I want to know., like how does glass noodles affect bg? Answer is, seems quite all right short term but the unexpected rise at three and four hours makes them a no-no. As is bread, pasta, rice and you know, probably gnocchi too. Sad but what to do about it? Demand single doses of insulin for the few times you crave gnocchi?
I have no problems with a high fat diet. If I feel peckish at odd times it tells me I should eat more at meal time and I for the time being I will have piece of cheese or some nuts.
I eat a lot of fat though so I am rarely peckish.
