Hi

Can anyone recommend a reliable nutritional scale for use in the UK. The ones I have seen advertised seem to be from the USA and accordingly the foods contained in the memory are mainly for the American market.

Lidl are doing a Nutritional analysis scale, brand SANITAS from 23rd Jan 2012 at £9.99
950 food items + 50 cusomisable
kcal, kjoule, fat, protein, carbohydrates
weighs 1g & eighth oz to 5kg
tare function.

There was a thread last year discussing nutritional scales and Riri says the Salter Nutritional Scales come with a warning to diabetics calculating carbs and adjusting insulin.....just found it now:

Hi,
I use "nutriscales" and they are Lloydspharmacy. They are very accurate and I use them to tell me how many carbs are in all sorts of foods. They were given to us by the hospital and that was 15 months ago.

Lol they was given to you as cheap and nothing else.
There's a warning in them saying not for medical usage. The carb values are not accurate. I took 5 sets back and demanded my money back in the end.
I even complained to head office about them and was assured a recall would be made. Did anyone recieve a recall notice?
User beware is all I can say.
Best way is to have an ordinary set of digi scales and weigh out the food and work it out yourself. The maths is quite simple.
