I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes since 28th Feb 2014, its been an up and down sort of ride, lots of downs, some ups , and I want to really understand and get to grips with the calories, carbs etc intake, I bought a diabetes log book, and fitness book my first day using it tomorrow, im going to be completely honest with myself, no one has to tell me this could kill me, I am the only one who can make the changes that will stop this from causing ir-reversible damage, its already there, I cant change it and not be diabetic anymore , but what I can do is not make it worse , than it already is, I stress over the littlest of things , work , home and food has always been the fallback, im trying to find a new fallback, has anyone got any idea what kind of intake we should eat a day, I get my 6th month blood test result tomorrow from my nurse she knows I have a big battle with my food habits so isn't expecting it to be a lot lower but is hoping it will be . When diagnosed it was 88 she is hoping it will 75 tomorrow, as long as it in the right direction, it will be good news, for me tomorrow will be a new me, back to blood checks after and before meals and writing down calories etc intake and food and exercise, I can make a stand and stop feeling that im always the victim, always the one forgotten about and always the one who isn't good enough, clearly small steps will be needed but I will not be defeated. Fingers crossed for tomorrow

I used to check before breakfast then 2 hours after, before lunch then 2 hours after, the before dinner , 2 hours after, then I ran out of strips, and fell off the wagon and wasn't a good time, work has been hard and really wasn't worried about what was going on with my blood, it was down to 7.9 on checks with nurse on a weekly basis or when I saw her, she wants it 7 or under up to 2 hours after food, as I see her in the mornings used to be weekly basis then fortnightly then monthly and it was the full 1st month not seeing her that regularly. But im starting tonight back on the wagon and trying to think positive.
