Nuts

t'weren't me m'dear!

ok I DID buy salted macanuts by the 8 packets ... yet again sainsburys staff eyeing me with vague suspicion!

as to the berries, they'd run out :( ...

I vaguely recall picking wild berries of some description one winter in Scotland with my dearly departed nana ... we made them into a kind of cranberry reduction and ate them as an Xmassy feast. We were caravanning (I was about 13 I guess) and it was freezing cold but such a wonderful memory. I thought for years they had been cranberries but I understand they grow on the water - these were scrumped from the forest floor, low lying bushes ... no clue, but tasted good and we didn't die from it! good ol' Nana ... miss her lots :(

all that from a berry!

hah!

Reminds me of my late dad, every year on the anniversary of his dad's death he used to travel up to the grave near Stoke on Trent to spruce up his gravestone. One year the anniversary fell on a Saturday so he took the whole family up there to see his cousin and have a trundle round the local area. Before we went home, dad and my son found a big blackberry bush and proceeded to pick it dry. Suffice it to say, my son couldn't wait and stuffed his face with a load of them. About halfway home, he said he didn't feel too good and brought them all up as soon as dad parked the car! (Unfortunately, he wasn't quite out of the car - dad spent the next half hour scrubbing up the upholstery and I got through a whole pack of baby wipes cleaning up my son!!!) I don't think i've ever seen it that colour!!!

Ttoday I went to Tesco on the way from the swimming pool. I usually go to LIDL, but I needed supplies to maintain my blonde hair, which Lidl don't do, so took the alternative. I pass Lidl, Tesco and Waitrose on my way home from exercise class. In Tesco I discovered 2 kinds of goodies. "pick and mix" cherry tomatoes, red, orange and yellow, round and plum.So pretty in salad!! I also got smoked Macanuts. Delicious beyond belief. Bought trout fillets and Jerusalem artichokes for dinner. Jerusalem artichokes are supposed to help with BGs and weight, because they contain inulin.

smoked madanuts? yeuck!! can't stand anything smoke or barbecued. liked the sound of the tomatoes though
