WE were issued a letter from school today with details of a school trip that will be happening for my son's class, which will be class 3 next march for children aged 6 -7 year olds. The trip is not too far away at a farm and activity centre very near our part of the country and it willl be for 3days and 2 nights from a wed am til friday evening. The question is do i send my t1 son along. I am really torn. I do want him to join in activities like this and have fun. He does has time away from me with his dad and my parents so I do handle over the control of his condition but I feel unsure about expecting one or more of his teaching assistants to be worrying about him for this whole period of time and doing those extra bedtime doses too which can go on to the early hrs if anything is wrong. He also has coeliac and so his diet and mealtimes can be tricky. we have to put his name down for it and to give our 1st deposit this monday!!!! what do you think ..god or bad idea??...Matties mum.

Have you considered volunteering to go along as a helper on the school trip? I know that some parents do/did that from my own kids primary school - though I'm guessing some sort of clearance is required. Why not ring the school to see if it is a possibility and to discuss your concerns with them?
