Hello

I was just wondering is the Blue Circle the official logo?? Just wondering because I am getting a tattoo on my wrist with the word "Diabetic" and was going to get the little circle too?! :)

Not sure where the blue circle logo is from, I'm sure someone else will know.
But it's worth remembering that over the years logos will change and become no longer relevant, or other things might adopt a similar logo. When I first heard of the blue circle logo being related to diabetes I automatically thought on the O2, mobile phone, brand.

Diabetes UK have a blue circle as part of their logo. Be care full though, I had their last logo tattooed on my wrist and then they changed it!! I would never get a logo tattooed on me again.
Your decision though :)

That's true maybe I will leave the circle out then! :) I'd just rather have a tattoo than a bracelet!

Yeah that would just be my luck aha! :) Can I see your diabetes tattoo if you dont mind ?:) x

Yes, the blue circle is indeed the symbol for diabetes... But as this thread neatly demonstrates there is a good chance that no one will recognize it so I'd make sure that the text is very clear and very prominent.

Oh hahahahha never seen that one before hahah! They do look similar though haha

What about this in blue for an idea, with the Daibetic wording or T1 insulin user..? (I don't like the word "dependant")

It looks a little rock & roll too....

That's not actually the proper medical symbol, the real one is a staff with a single snake going up it. ;)

Your probably right..! The one I highlighted could be from the Star Trek franchise?
"Star ship medical officer" or wotnot... Lol

I would advocate thorough research before committing to ink....! :)

I don't want anything too fancy because I have had 2 tattoo's before and they hurt like hell and I am a wuss!! hahahah!

And I just want a little something instead of a medical bracelet :)

Just a question Everyone talks about logo/ But
When a problem arises/ how does one inform the people concerned. If you were unable to explain. how would people know!!! your a diabetic.
I know you get bracelets but they are not really. not what I would want, and a tattoo well a bit squeamish. also I am on warfarin so that would be a problem.
Your comments would be appreciated. The only info on me is the tablets and do not carry them around with me.

There is one thing that Doctor's have been giving out it's called a insulin passport and also a diabetes emergency card! The insulin passport basically has all of your medication that you take on it, which you carry around with you at all times! I don't know if your doctor or nurse will give you one but I have one! :) Not sure where it is though ha!

Hi, the only thing I could think of is clear concise ID carried with driving licence & stuff like that...?
Emergency services & the law like to know who they are dealing with I suppose..
I've never had need for assistance myself....
