Hey guys,

Just checked my BG (3hrs after dinner) and it's 20.7 :( (i washed my hands and tested again and same reading)

An hour ago it was 8.9.. which is okay by me for a 2 hour reading after dinner.

Checked because it's a bit hot in the office today so i'm keeping a close eye on things..

I'm assuming it's my set and i've just changed the cannula and had a bolus to bring it down.

Just a bit worried, i haven't had a reading like that since i've had the pump :(

Check for air bubbles in the resevoir and tubing too, that's usually what our problem is for unexplained high readings.

I've checked. No bubbles, nothing to restrict the tubing and no occlusion alarm.

I was due to change the cannula tonight so maybe it was an 'off site' ?

Just a bit worrying.

Thanks for your reply.:)

It's scary how quickly the reading can go up. Hope it all comes back under control for you soon :)

Hopefully it will be fine but If your level hasn't gone down when you check again, use a pen (if you've got one with you at work ) to do the correction and check for ketones.

it scared me how quick things can deteriorate on a pump but ours was air bubbles that caused the problems u can see why they advise testing lots when on the pump cant u

hope things are looking abit better now, once we got rid of bubbles and bolused dylan also came down fast

You may not see an airbubble in the tubing, as for your levels to go up the air may well have passed through the tubing!!! I would bang and reprime as well if I was you...

Can't recall what pump you are on, but certain pumps and reservoirs are more likely to have air bubbles than others....

Hi all,

Kept a close eye on it and when i'd gotten home before tea i was around 12.0 at 5pm, and after tea i was back to normal and within range. Phew.

I primed my pump too and gave it a little bang just incase thanks Ddogs. Still no bubbles though.

I use the accu-chek combo but haven't heard it's more likely to have bubbles (i hope not )

My nurse has got me doing 3am tests again to check my basal overnight and it was a good 5.6 so all fine and dandy now.

thanks guys :)

Just a note..

I always write down when I change reservoirs and sets in my log book, even where I put my sets...

From doing that I was able to establish the problem with the flexilink plus sets, and also that my levels go up after every reservoir change, and it is necessary for me to reprime after 4 hours and again 24 hours later else I get unexplained highs.

If you do get unexplained high's it just enables you to find a pattern....I to am on the combo pump.

Best wishes...Sha x

i note down in my diary of a set change, but i don't note down where or resevoir changes either, but will do from now on! sounds like a good idea.

Thanks :)
