Type 2 Ok so how would you deal with this?

Just as a late FYI Benecol had some of their adverts pulled for exaggerating the benefits of their products.
These 'healthier' spreads do not bear the slightest of scrutiny at times.

Thanks nteresting. She lectured me about butter andcwe should be using benecol and that “the nurse” had said so!. Obviously I ignored her.

I would be tempted to ask her (the MIL) what her own mother and grandmother used to have in the time before Benecol and other margarines and to ask the nurse if she actually knows how spreads are made and what with. Mind you, I would also be tempted just to throw in a factoid about how half of all NHS staff (including admin, consultants and porters etc) are overweight or obese so are themselves unhealthy by their own standards. Physician heal thyself an' all that jazz.

Oh I don’t need to. I’ve been told that’s why they had heart attacks because they ate butter and full fat milk. She never tells me anything else about the diet. That is the only thing she thinks off. I reckon she ate more carbs for breakfast than I do in 10 days!! (Lucky her)

I haven’t been to a hospital in a while but was there with a friend recently and yes, it is quite a surprise!

My readings are high at the moment and I’m sure that is just stress. I always joke to my husband that they will be high when his parents are due to visit!
