Omega 6 to 3 ratio and inflammation

Hi all. Do any of you pay much attention or worry much about your omega 6 to omega 3 ratio in terms of inflammation and any potential impact on blood sugars/diabetes as such? I’ve been reading about these omega fat ratios and I do eat oily fish (3-4 portions a week) and walnuts and avocados on most days, but don’t really pay much attention to what ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 I eat, or am I being too OCD about it? Should I really only worry about overconsumption of carbs/sugars in the main?

Nope
I just avoid vegetable oils (easier said than done), man-made trans fats (obviously), spreadable butter and the like that contain vegetable oil's. I'm not a fan of olive oil but that's on my ok list along with coconut oil. No poly-unsaturated fats where possible or man-made hydrogenated (including partially) if I see it on a label.
No rancid and smelly fish oil capsules any more either! Like you, I prefer very fresh fish including the livers. I'm not in the best of health so might be missing a trick, but hey, 80/20.

I have no idea but since you have reversed your diabetes you already obviously have a firm handle on management. Alternatively, as per CJ , you may feel "I didn't get where I am today by....." Useful I know. No thanks required

So much of our work managing our blood sugars comes down to the 80/20 rule, as someone pointed out! LOL! I think it really comes down to what you can comfortably maintain over the long-term.
By cutting out processed foods 2 years ago, I feel like I made a huge improvement in avoiding the worst of the omega 6 concentrated foods. That gives you the biggest bang for your buck, in my opinion. Beyond that, the science also starts to feel a bit murky (in my opinion). I read that the seed oils can actually damage insulin receptors in some articles, and then I read other articles that can't repeat those experiments. I personally feel like the seed oil science controversy is going to be the next big thing to hit the mainstream, but it will be ugly! Too bad we low-carbers all can't sit back and eat popcorn to watch. Ha!!!!!!

Moderation in all things including moderation but yes avoiding processed foods tends to cut out plenty of omega 6 but I refuse to not eat things others have cooked for me (work canteen or mother in law or Chinese birthday celebration for my daughter tonight) even though I know there is no amount of salmon, flax or walnuts that can compensate for it. Life is too short to be rude or to skip a rare meal out!
I do vividly remember to eat the better fats when available if I remember that most our brains are constructed and repaired from the fats we eat over a number of years. Good fats = solid foundations Bad fats= straw according to a podcast I heard.
