I've just tested and I'm 5.6 !!!!!!!!!!! :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed:

I was so shocked I tested again in other hand to make sure there was no mistake and it was the same!!!!! :woot::D:joyful::happy::smug:

Over 30 to 5.6 in just a month, the lowest I've been up till now is 7.2, but only tested in the 7s a few times! Just got to try and keep it this low now!

Thank you to everyone who has helped me, couldn't have done it without you all :cool:

Thumbs up rowan, well done :)

I'm still getting the dreaded dawn phenomenom though, it was 15 this morning!

Yeah. DP is a bummer.
After a year of very low carb my DP has not shifted. And stress, lack of sleep and being woken by foxes fighting in the street outside tends to drive it higher. :(

But give it time and a lot of ppl find that their DP gently shifts downwards, but it may take months rather than weeks...

I'm hoping that the lower my BG gets the lower the DP will be, even though I know it will be higher than bedtime. It's between 14 and 16 every morning and it takes hours to go down. It's bound to affect my HBA1C in 3 weeks time, which is the most annoying thing. But hopefully it will be good enough to avoid the insulin my GP wanted to put me on a month ago - I TOLD her I didn't need it ;)

And my DP this morning was 10, whereas it's been between 14 and 16 fot the last couple of weeks! How strange :)
rowan, I've documented on here several times how my bloods came into line when I got my diet (and exercise) into shape. I didn't experience a slow, downward slope on my graph, but more a level line, then notches downwards. It was almost like my body fought and fought to maintain the higher levels, then gave in, "picking" a new lower level, and restarting that exercise. I think others found this too.

If that's the case, take heart from a renewed stable state, it could just be your body getting ready to "give in" to a new lower you.

Hopefully your fasting levels will react in the same way. If you have made significant progress when you go back in a few weeks, I'm positive your HCPs will be less inclined to go down the insulin route.
