Hi, I've moved from Dash to Omnipod 5. I've always known that the sensor cannot exactly match the BG results but when on MDI and even Dash, I could work with this. However, on a closed loop, the sensor reliability really messes up my control, as I'm having to run it higher than I want so I don't get low glucose alarms. I turn the sensor alarms off but there is a default low glucose alarm which can't be overridden. I eat low carb and I'm used to normal BG levels, and was quite happy between 4-5 on MDI but the closed loop issue with the sensor accuracy not improving seems more hassle than it's worth.
I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow, seriously considering moving back to MDI. I have persevered but overnight the sensor was completely out of range and subsequently the omnipod didn't give me insulin. I've been in touch with Abbott a few times to request replacement sensors and spoke to Insulet about accuracy. I just don't think this is for me
