Omnipod 5 NHS waiting list

My hba1c is 58, so I just qualify for NHS omnipod 5. I asked my consultant if I could try it, and he said there was a waiting list which is nearly 5 years!

Is this the experience others have had with this system? It seems an absurdly long time to wait.

I said that by 2030, tech will have moved on significantly, making the OP5 obsolete!
 
Pumps are very expensive, finds are short, so yes depending on where you are there could be big waits
