Hi Everybody, my first post!!!!!!!
I am Type 1 for the last 25yrs. 64yrs old loving the new tech closed loop. I am over weight I was 117kg. I am now 92kgs so lost 25kgs over the last 12 months. I am currently training for a Triathlon, I really watch my diet and have lots of salad with protein, only fruit for breakfast usually veg soup for lunch with 2 slice bread. Supper we alternate from carb to protein, drink ginger and lemon tea in the morning no coffee until after 12:00 always decaf.

Exercise, last night was 1 mile open water swim
Today, program is walk dogs 6km morning
afternoon 40km bike ride
evening running club +-6km

Wow a lot of information, What do I want from the forum,

Are their any T1 sports people out there that can advise what products to use, how often and what time period after completing activity.

Hello Mark - well done on entering a Triathlon.

I am guessing you mean fuelling in regards to products ? That's really trial and error and also relates to what speed your BG levels are moving at. I run alot so fuelling for runs means using Hilltop honey (Amazon) for dropping BG levels and if going hypo as it's pretty fast and easy to consume as comes in sachets, so easily carried, I don't get on with gels, they upset my stomach so only in an emergency or at the end for these, to keep levels up during a run it's either glucotabs (a bit dry tho), jelly babies or jelly beans, or dried apricots or dates are good sugar alternatives, then a carby snack at the end to avoid a post run hypo, staying hydrated with water is very important, take advantage of water stations and use electrolytes which are lost through sweat as you can finish feeling quite poorly if your salt levels are low, you can buy sachets of these or use salt sticks from amazon but it's vital to make sure you have this covered.

Keep a watch on levels throughout the following 24 hours too and keep yourself slightly elevated as your muscles do the repair worth then and this can drain glucose supplies.

Thanks, both. I'm just a week into the same sensor/pump combo and working out how to
get it right for 50-100Km cycle rides. First impression was that a fair amount of carbo is still needed, notwithstanding the claims made in the induction session for the Activity mode. Would certainly agree with Juicyj's comments.
